HRH the Deputy King attends the 10th edition of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism
The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today attended the 10th edition of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism, held under his patronage.
His Royal Highness commended the role of the national press as a key partner in supporting the Kingdom’s continued development, while also highlighting that Team Bahrain’s distinguished journalists continue to contribute to strengthening the Kingdom’s wide-ranging achievements, in support of the comprehensive development led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad outlined that the Kingdom’s press plays a vital role in strengthening national unity, raising public awareness, reinforcing trust in official sources, reporting responsibly, and safeguarding the Kingdom’s interests and achievements.
HRH the Deputy King noted that the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism has, since its inception, developed a culture of excellence and innovation, recognised outstanding national media talent, and encouraged continued creativity that enhances the status of Bahraini journalism.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad commended the commitment of the national media, highlighting their role in supporting Bahrain, raising public awareness, and addressing challenges with professionalism and competence, particularly during the hostile Iranian aggression against the Kingdom.
His Royal Highness affirmed his pride in Bahrain’s press, who have consistently demonstrated professionalism, responsibility, and dedication in serving the nation and reporting with credibility.
HRH the Deputy King honoured the recipients of the 2026 Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism, as follows:
– Mounis Al-Mardi was awarded the 2026 Journalism Personality Award
– Khalil Ibrahim Al Thawadi, columnist for Alayam, and Mahmeed Juma Al Mahmeed, columnist for Akhbar Al Khaleej, were awarded the Best Column Award
– Shaymaa Abdulkarim Hussein, journalist for Al Bilad, was awarded the Best Investigative Journalism Award
– Faisal Mohammed Al-Ali was awarded the Best Newspaper Niche Page or Supplement Award, in recognition of the Issa Al-Kabeer supplement in Al Watan
– Rashid Nabeel Al-Hamer, Editor-in-Chief of Alayam, was awarded the Best Interview Award
– Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Mulla, photographer for Bahrain News Agency, was awarded the Best Photography Award
– Mohammed Abdul-Redha Bahar, journalist for Alayam, was awarded the Best Visual Journalistic Content Award
– Omar Abdul Salam Al-Kaabneh from Al Bilad was awarded the Best Infographic Report Award
– Hudhaifa Ibrahim Al-Dabou from Al Bilad was awarded the Best Press Institution’s Website or Electronic Account Award
– Nariman Mohammed Al-Dulaimi from Ahlia University, Mohammed Hashim Saeed from Bahrain Polytechnic, and Ahmed Rashid Al-Hilli from the University of Bahrain, were awarded the Best University Student Journalism Project Award
His Royal Highness extended his congratulations to all the recipients of the awards, wishing them continued success and encouraging them to build on their achievements through continued creativity and excellence.
For his part, HE Dr Ramzan bin Abdullah Al-Noaimi, Minister of Information, expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of His Majesty the King for the national press.
His Excellency also extended his gratitude for His Royal Highness’s patronage of the event, which marked the award’s tenth anniversary, noting that this occasion reflects the prestigious standing of the award in recognising journalistic excellence and encouraging creativity through His Royal Highness’s continued support.
HE Dr Al-Noaimi congratulated the award winners, emphasising that the recognition serves as an incentive to continue with their journalistic efforts, promote professional excellence, and advance the Kingdom’s journalism sector in line with Bahrain’s far-reaching development goals.
The winners of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism expressed their appreciation to HRH the Deputy King for his ongoing commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s media sector. They affirmed that the awards are an honour as well as an incentive to continue contributing to the industry, serving the nation, and upholding the national media’s mission with professionalism and responsibility.
Several senior officials, journalists, and media professionals also attended the ceremony.
