HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister exchanges cables with HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa on the silver jubilee of the Supreme Council for Women
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received a congratulatory cable from HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the SCW, marking the 25th anniversary of its establishment.
This year’s anniversary is being celebrated under the theme “Twenty-Five Years at the Heart of the Reform Project,” coinciding with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s designation of 2026 as the “Year of Isa Al Kabeer,” in commemoration of the founder of the modern state and the leader of Bahrain’s institutional renaissance, His Highness Isa Al Kabeer, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies. This designation showcases Bahrain’s historical journey and reaffirms the Kingdom’s longstanding commitment to developing its people and institutions, while sustaining the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty the King and supported by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Her Royal Highness also reflected on the remarkable achievements and milestones attained by Bahraini women, as well as the distinguished standing they have achieved nationally and internationally as key partners in the Kingdom’s comprehensive development.
Her Royal Highness attributed these accomplishments to the vision of His Majesty the King and to the government’s continued support, under the leadership of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in creating a legislative and developmental environment that has strengthened women’s participation, expanded their contribution across various sectors, and reinforced the principles of equal opportunities and national partnership.
Her Royal Highness further expressed her appreciation for the continued support extended by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the SCW, its programmes, and its initiatives. Her Royal Highness noted that this support has played a significant role in enabling the SCW to continue achieving its objectives and contribute to the development of Bahrain’s advanced model for women’s empowerment, which has earned recognition and appreciation at all levels.
Her Royal Highness noted that, as the Kingdom celebrates the 25th anniversary of the SCW, it looks forward to a new phase of achievements built on the national accomplishments realised over the past quarter century.
Her Royal Highness affirmed the aspiration to continue advancing Bahrain’s position as a leading model in women’s empowerment and advancement, while reinforcing the values of partnership and sustainable development, and building on the Council’s achievements in strengthening the role and contribution of Bahraini women across all areas of national development.
Her Royal Highness concluded by wishing lasting security, stability, and prosperity for the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people.
In reply, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister sent a cable of thanks to HRH the Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW, expressing his appreciation for Her Royal Highness’ congratulations on the silver jubilee of the SCW.
His Royal Highness affirmed that the achievements attained by Bahraini women at the national, regional, and international levels since the establishment of the SCW are the result of the support of His Majesty the King.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad noted that the progress achieved by Bahraini women across various fields reflects His Majesty the King’s vision and foresight when, upon assuming the reins of government, His Majesty ordered the establishment of the SCW to oversee women’s affairs.
His Royal Highness added that the SCW has played a pivotal role in strengthening the contribution of Bahraini women across all sectors and enhancing their standing, making them a model of women’s advancement.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister further noted that the achievements realised by the SCW throughout its distinguished journey have been made possible under Her Royal Highness’ leadership, whose guidance has laid the foundation for the progress achieved by Bahraini women.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad affirmed the government’s commitment to placing women at the heart of the Kingdom’s development process by making women’s advancement a strategic priority across all initiatives, plans, and programmes, recognising women as essential partners in national development.
His Royal Highness reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing the SCW with all necessary support to achieve its objectives during the next phase, in a manner that further strengthens the role of women and contributes to the Kingdom’s continued prosperity and development.
