HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister congratulates HM the King

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the historic occasion of Bahrain’s national handball team winning the gold medal for the first time in its history at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, following its victory over the Qatari national team in the final.

His Royal Highness emphasised that this notable sporting achievement reflects His Majesty the King’s continued support for Bahraini sports, which has contributed to strengthening the Kingdom’s standing across various regional and international sporting events.

His Royal Highness commended the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, in supporting and developing the sports sector. His Royal Highness also commended their continued support for the national teams, which contributes to achieving further sporting accomplishments for the Kingdom.

His Royal Highness congratulated the players of the national handball team, as well as the technical and administrative staff and the Bahrain Handball Association, commending the determination, competitiveness, and outstanding performance demonstrated throughout the championship. His Royal Highness wished them continued success and further achievements that enhance the Kingdom’s standing across various sporting arenas.
