HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister receives the Supreme Head of the Indian Orthodox Church
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, Supreme Head of the Indian Orthodox Church, at Gudaibiya Palace.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness highlighted, that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s steadfast approach to religious tolerance is rooted in the values of coexistence and pluralism.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister stressed the Kingdom’s pioneering achievements in this field, noting that the Kingdom’s approach stands as an exemplary model of coexistence, reflecting its commitment to promoting mutual respect and openness among diverse cultures.
His Royal Highness also emphasised the role played by places of worship in the Kingdom in upholding principles of mutual respect among diverse religions and cultures.
For his part, the Supreme Head of the Indian Orthodox Church commended the leading role Bahrain plays in promoting coexistence and tolerance, thanks to the vision of His Majesty the King and the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, and HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, as well as several senior officials, were in attendance.
