Deputy King meets Singapore FM
The Deputy of His Majesty the King and Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, affirmed that the historical relations between the Gulf and Southeast Asia was a fertile one and enjoyed an excellent environment for the success of the efforts of mutual cooperation between the countries of these regions.
Shaikh Salman who was speaking during the meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore George Yeo indicated the importance of the exchange of visits between officials in both regions to strengthen cooperation between the two sides.
He also congratulated Yeo during the meeting on the success of the first ministerial meeting between the GCC and the ASEAN group. Shaik Salman sid that the meeting of the two sides constituted a quantum leap in the aspects of relations between the two sides and contributed to the development of the level of communication and dialogue between them.
Shaikh Salman said that Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty the King had adopted the investment in human capital and a focus on education and training as the basis underlying the process of comprehensive development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.Within this context he also praised Singapore’s rich experience in this area.
Shaikh Salman praised the convergence of views between the two countries, which reflected on the significant progress in the relations between the two countries in various sectors and expressed his satisfaction with the sustained growth in the course of the Bahraini-Singapore relations.
For his part Yeo expressed his country’s keenness toward cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in all areas to enhance the strong relations between the two countries.He also stressed that Singapore has always sought to strengthen its relations with all countries in the region.
The minister praised the convergence of views between the two countries in several regional and international issues, stressing that this convergence of views helped enhance the close bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the meeting both sides discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
