DEPUTY OF HM KING HAMAD CHAIRS EDB MEETING

Upgrading the infrastructure of logistic services  and raising communication points are elements that actively serve the  Kingdom of Bahrain by boosting inter connection and communication with  the world as well as regional and international markets, Deputy of His  Majesty the King, Crown Prince and Economic Development Board (EDB)  Chairman Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa said as he chaired at Riffa  Palace today the EDB Executive Committee meeting.

Increasing competence and competitiveness and developing the  infrastructure, including sea, air and land ports, are essential factors to  attract foreign investments and enable them to avail of the kingdom’s  facilities in cargo, re-exportation and transportation fields, he stressed.

He underlined while reviewing the strategic development plan of the logistic  services sector the need to focus on integration and coordination between  all concerned sides in order to ensure effective and comprehensive  development of this vital field.

He also pointed out the need to give more concern to training and  rehabilitation of the national workforce in this important domain. The meeting also spotlighted major initiatives and schemes aimed at  upgrading the logistic services infrastructures, being a stimulus for the  growth of other economic sectors and their contribution to the Gross  Domestic Product (GDP).
