HRH Crown Prince receives US Secretary of State
The importance of an event like Manama Dialogue lies in identifying clearly and rationally regional and international challenges in order to map out foreign policies in any country, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, said as he met today US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the sidelines of Manama Dialogue summit.
Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa was also present. Backing dialogue and openness is a principle adopted by Bahrain under the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH the Crown Prince added pointing out the kingdom’s commitment to this principle in dealing with its neighbouring and friendly countries.
Bahrain has been keen to promote dialogue as one of its cultural and political pillars in order to achieve justice, unity and harmony and ensure a better life for its citizens, he affirmed. He also hailed Clinton’s participation in Manama Dialogue describing it as an added value to the summit due to the pioneering role of the USA in political and security fields.
Communication and coordination are two fundamentals characterizing distinguished relations between Bahrain and the USA, he said stressing the kingdom’s keenness to further boost bilateral cooperation and coordination in various fields. The meeting also spotlighted efforts to maintain regional security and stability and ward off any threat to progress and development in this vital part of the world.
The US Secretary of State lauded Bahrain’s efforts to push ahead with the development process so as to ensure all citizens benefit from its dividends. She pointed out to her meeting with HM King Hamad hailing the positive spirit of Bahrain which has enabled it to play a key role in the region. She also praised positive economic results brought about thanks to the dynamism and practical vision characterizing this sector.
Present at the meeting were Foreign Ministry Advisor Dr. Abdullatif Al Zayani, Economic Development Board Chief Executive Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Court Head Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa, Bahraini Ambassador to the USA Huda Nunu and the US Secretary of State’s accompanying delegation.
