HRH Prince Salman Visits the British Parliament

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, today underscored Bahrain’s political, economic and social strides. “The landmark achievements reflect the success of the reform project, which was heralded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa”, he said. He was speaking at the British parliament as he met the UK Bahrain All Party Parliamentary Group led by Conor Burns.

“The reform project has turned Bahrain into a country of viable institutions, where the rule of the law reigns”, he said, stressing the importance of the current political momentum, openness and flourishing liberties in promoting a national partnership, co-opting all segments of the social spectrum.

He also described work under the dome of parliament as the ideal legitimate and civilized channel for established democracies to make key decisions for any national project. He thanked the group chairman and members for their efforts to promote relations between Bahrain and the UK, aspiring for more bilateral cooperation.”Bahrain has created a stable environment for capitals, trade and economic activities, thus becoming an ideal choice for investment projects in the Middle East”, he said, stressing the pivotal role of the Economic Development Board.

He underscored Bahrain’s efforts to boost the industrial sector, being a key national economic pillar, run by trained and qualified national cadres.He also highlighted the Bahrain’s drive to overhaul the educational sector, describing it as an essential cornerstone to build human being.

He paid tribute to the pivotal role of the Quality Assessment Authority for Educational and Training in measuring the standard of the curricula and evaluating graduates.Conor Burns hailed Bahrain’s democratic fledgling experience “All eyes of political observers and monitors are on Bahrain’s democratic momentum”, he said, hailing His Majesty King Hamad’s reform project, which puts citizens’ welfare on top of all priorities.

He also congratulated HRH Prince Salman on Bahrain’s successful legislative and municipals polls 2010, hailing the transparency and probity of the elections.Present were Foreign Ministry Advisor Dr Abdullatif Rashid Al Zayani, EDB chief executive officer Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince’s Court chief Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa and Bahrain Ambassador to the UK Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa.
