HRH Prince Salman Receives Singapore’s President S R Nathan

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander today hailed bilateral relations bonding Bahrain and Singapore.  “The positive results represent a major catalyst to promote cooperation further”, he said. He was speaking as he received Singapore’s President S R Nathan. He described the Republic of Singapore as a landmark Asian model to emulate, stressing Bahrain’s keenness to open up on regional and global successful experiences.

He also underscored the importance of exchanged visit to build up on achievements and promote cooperation, particularly development projects, developed systems and joint ventures.”In Bahrain we are striving to implement the Bahrain 2030 Economic Vision, he said, stressing efforts to promote modernization schemes. He also described competitiveness, justice and sustainability as key development pillars to enhance productivity in all sectors and services benefiting citizens, particularly educational, health and housing schemes.

President S R Nathan expressed his delight to be in Bahrain, hailed His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s ladmark strides in spearheading development, reforms and modernization. He also stressed the importance of such visits to exchange expertise and ideas in vital sectors. 

He also lauded the efforts of the HRH Prince Salman to promote economic and development programmes, reform  vital sectors and diversify revenues. President S R Nathan also praised the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme. “The scheme is a a crucial initiative to invest in human beings and preparing the future generation”,  he said.

The two leaders also discussed the current situation in the region expressing, urging solutions ensuring regional security and stability and the settlement of disputes, which are impeding development efforts. HRH Prince Salman then hosted a dinner banquet in honour of President S R Nathan marking his state visit to Bahrain.

Present were Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Economic Development Board chief executive officer Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa and other senior officials.
