HRH Crown Prince Receives Moroccan Tourism Minister

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, today described Morocco as one the most significant centres for Islamic Civilization owing to its distinguished location and nature, which has made it a favourable destination for tourists throughout history.

Speaking as he received today the Moroccan Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts & Social Economy Yasser Al Zanaky, in the presence of Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, HRH Crown Prince called for the need to enhance cooperation between the Culture Ministry and the Moroccan Tourism, Handicrafts and Social Economy in order to highlight the two countries’ rich cultural heritage, reiterating his support for any programmes aiming to strengthen bilateral cultural and tourism ties.

On his part, the Moroccan Minister briefed HRH Crown Prince on the Moroccan Arab Tourism Investment Fund Project aiming to preserve Arab cultural and historical heritage. In this context, HRH Crown Prince gave directives to study the project cautiously, lauding the key role played by the Culture Ministry in maintaining heritage sites and Organising cultural and tourism functions in the kingdom. EDB Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa and Head of HRH Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa attended.
