Deputy King and HRH Premier Hail Global Support for Bahrain

Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, and His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today expressed satisfaction at the International Community’s support for the measures taken by the kingdom to thwart terrorist plots, safeguard its security and stability and impose the rule of law.

“This reflects the global acknowledgement of Bahrain’s landmark democratic reforms and positive practices in the field of protecting human rights as well as its remarkable status in the world arena thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s keenness to boost the kingdom’s relations with all countries, its balanced policies and active role regionally and at the international level,” they said.

They also stressed the importance of direct contact with international organisations for the sake of explaining the official point of view of what has happened in order not to let liars and intriguants spread misinformation that is incompatible with reality, calling upon state bodies to further upgrade their roles in order to be more efficient in facing those lies which jeopardize national security.

This Came as HRH Crown Prince visited today HRH Premier at his court. During the meeting, they reviewed the kingdom’s economic development, stressing the need to make political and economic openness go hand in hand out of their conviction that political openness cannot yield fruitful results unless it is positively exploited economically.

The two Princes also highlighted the importance of the state budget in achieving the different developmental projects, asserting that the budget is subject to careful study so as to reflect the wise leadership’s directives and meet the citizens’ expectations. On the subsidization policy, they indicated that it should be reviewed so as to ensure that needy citizens are the first to be supported.

They also welcomed the on-going cooperation with international academic institutions for the sake of enhancing the productivity of the industrial sector in the kingdom, asserting that the activation of investment is continuing. In this context, they praised the Kingdom’s investment strides through the acquisition of stakes in international companies, which fosters Bahrain’s position on the map of world investment and boosts its economic and political interests.
