Deputy King receives Prince Andrew
Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, today described the strong relations bonding Bahrain and the UK as being history and based on the principles of friendship and mutual respect.
He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad and British Queen Elisabeth II for promoting the deep-rooted ties, hailing their keenness to build on achievements over past decades. He was speaking as he received at Riffa Palace Prince Andrew, Duke of York and UK’s special representative for International Trade and Investment. Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Premier Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended.
“Bahrain and the UK agree in their approach to regional and international issues, particularly security and peace in the world”, Deputy King said. Prince Andrew outlined his views on promoting bilateral cooperation, particularly in the sectors of water, alternative energies, insurance and banking. He also Bahrain’s democratic strides and openness spearheaded by His Majesty King.”The success achieved so far reflects Bahrain’s ability to develop its national institutions in line with the modernisation drive”, he said.
