HRH Premier Receives HRH Crown Prince
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today received at his court His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and the Economic Development Board (EDB) Chairman.
During the meeting, HRH Premier and HRH Crown Prince reviewed the kingdom’s incessant efforts to set up development projects and consolidate infrastructure and services provided for the citizens through the opening of new establishments, including King Hamad General Hospital. The meeting also touched upon privatisation and its pivotal role in attracting investments and upgrading the quality of services offered for the citizens.
In this context, their Royal Highnesses reviewed the stimuli aiming to spur the privatisation programmes, which include securing the insurance interests of those targeted by those projects necessarily requiring the unification of the insurance criteria between the Insurance and Pension’s Funds, especially after the formation of the General Organisation for Social Insurance (GOSI).
The two leaders also discussed the necessary means aiming to stimulate trade and commercial activities, including laws and legislations regulating them, boosting the trade activities and guarding the interests of traders and the concerned corporations monitoring that process such as the Bahrain Chamber for Commerce and Industry (BCCI) whose duty is to develop trade and economic conditions and defend the rights of traders.
They also stressed that the laws related to the commercial sector should help boost the commercial activity and safeguard the rights of traders and their representative, the BCCI. They also lauded the active economic activity Bahrain is witnessing, stressing the importance of sound planning and financing of projects.
