HRH Crown Prince Receives Cambridge University Vice -Chancellor
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and the Economic Development Board (EDB) Chairman, today asserted that the Economic Vision for Bahrain 2030 was based on education and the individual’s acquisition of the essential skills in accordance with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s aspirations.
In Bahrain, we believe that the educated person is the core of development and the basis for the country’s building, HRH Crown Prince said as he received today at Al Riffa Palace Cambridge University Vice-Chancellor Professor Alison Richard, indicating that public education in the Kingdom had started as early as 1919, which was a regional precedence. We have taken all the necessary decisions and procedures to reform our educational system to match the global education standards in an age of openness and technology through the establishment of specialised corporations such as the Quality Assurance Authority for Education and Training (QAAET), HRH Crown Prince also said, noting that the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) has provides a good opportunity for Bahrain’s brightest, most talented and outstanding students to study at world universities.
On her part, Alison Richard lauded HRH Crown Prince’s modern enlightened vision which, she said, helped generate landmark educational reform principles. She also praised the educator-oriented programmes, asserting that teachers play a pivotal role in the educational process. She also invited HRH Crown Prince to visit Cambridge University in order to update the University’s affiliates on his political and economic visions as well his future outlook. Present was Head of the Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Khalifa bin Duaij Al Khalifa.
