HRH Crown Prince Receives Citigroup EMEA Chief Executive Officer

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and the Economic Development Board (EDB) Chairman today indicated that the kingdom has taken serious procedures in order to reform its economic sector in conformity with the world economy’s required performance as Bahrain is part of the global economic system.

HRH Crown Prince lauded the Bahraini financial and banking institutions’ good relations with Citigroup for Europe, Middle East and North Africa (EMEA), wishing that  cooperation between both sides will yield more fruitful results in order to upgrade the banking and financial performance.

Through its distinguished role as a financial centre and high-level infrastructure, Bahrain is capable of hosting the most renowned world economic, financial and banking institutions and provide them with the needed facilities and qualified personnel, HRH Crown Prince asserted as he received today at Al Riffa Palace EMEA Citigroup Chief Executive Officer Alberto J.Verme and other Citigroup officials. HRH Crown Prince said he expected new ideas aiming to secure economic stability in the region and overcome all the obstacles impeding economic development process so as to reflect the real partnership between the public and private sectors.

During the meeting, Alberto Verme briefed HRH Crown Prince on the group’s activities all over the world and its successful investments in the kingdom thanks to the facilities provided for the investors, its stability and openness, which has encouraged many financial and economic institutions to choose it as the centre for their regional activities. Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Head of the Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Khalifa bin Duaij Al Khalifa attended.
