HRH Crown Prince to open CISCO conference

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Economic Development Board Chairman, will open tomorrow at Bahrain International Circuit CISCO Networkers Bahrain 2010 which is to be held for the first time in the Middle East with the participation of 3000 professionals in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from more than 70 countries worldwide.

ICT industry is playing a key role in any country’s development with new innovative methods being sought in this regard, Cabinet Affairs Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Atiyatallah Al Khalifa said to mark the occasion.  The conference is well-timed to translate the kingdom’s efforts concerning this industry and to review ICT development in the whole region as participants in these major international events are decision-makers in this field, he added stressing sustainable development in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 as a goal behind hosting the event. ICT decision-makers from across the world, including the Middle East, North Africa, Britain and the USA, Shaikh Ahmed said.It is also an opportunity for engineers to meet and discuss challenges facing companies and possible solutions for them, he added. He also expressed hope the conference, which will be held under the theme “Knowledge is Strength”, would meet the set up goals successfully and add impetus to the conventions industry in Bahrain.
