HRH Crown Prince Receives Council for Peace in the Middle East Chairman
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander today said that the peace process in the Middle East is frozen and that it hasn’t achieved its anticipated purposes because leaders are those who make peace and people just follow them.
The withdrawal of the Israeli peace partner and the Palestinian internal division between Hamas and Fath Movements have led to the dashing of the peace hope called for by US President Barack Obama, HRH Crown Prince said as he received the American Council for Peace in the Middle East Chairman and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, HRH Prince Salman reviewed many Arab World-related issues, indicating that the common impression among the majority of Arabs is that Israel is not a serious peace partner.In this context, HRH Crown Prince reiterated Bahrain’s firm stances, advocated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, calling for the need to achieve just and lasting peace as a strategic regional goal so as to shield the region against insecurity and terrorism and allow people there to benefit from their resources and develop their standards of living.
On his part, the Council for Peace in the Middle East Chairman lauded HRH Crown Prince’s initiatives aiming to bring about peace in the region.
Present were Head of the Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Khalifa bin Duaij Al Khalifa and the US Ambassador to Bahrain.
