HRH Crown Prince addresses conference
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Chairman of the Economic Development Board, urged today to take advantage of His Majesty King Hamad’s unwavering concept of educational development in Bahrain which is based on preserving the kingdom’s authentic heritage, boosting Bahrain’s Arab and Islamic identity and shaping a competent and open educational system capable of coping with the needs of the present.
His Majesty the King wanted education to be the material of development and productivity for future generations in Bahrain, HRH the Crown Prince pointed out as he addressed today the Conference of English Schools in the Middle East, which is running till next Saturday. Holding this conference and choosing Bahrain for all your schools in the region is a clear evidence of the kingdom’s status and pioneering role, he said to attending British school officials. He also expressed appreciation of the British educational experience which derives its creativity, scientific and moral fundamentals from historical icons like Shakespeare, Newton and Churchill. Education is Britain’s greatest export. Therefore, Bahrain is eager to avail of this unique experience in its comprehensive and continuous development process, he added hailing the conference as a collective commitment to explore new and advanced educational methods.
Bahrain yearns to build a society as open to the world as possible through partnerships in education, investment and commerce, HRH Prince Salman said pointing out the significance of education and training for economic development to gain leverage and to stimulate competitiveness.Bahrain believes education is a profitable partnership between two parties: individuals and the government so as to achieve the aspired level of advancement, he added. Our common vision is that a decent education should be the unalienable right of everyone in all countries regardless of gender or income differences, he explained.
Upgrading education in Bahrain is the cornerstone of the kingdom’s national strategy, he stressed pointing out to various educational institutions and programmes like the Bahrain Teachers College, the New Bahrain Polytechnic, the Quality Assurance Authority, the new vocational development programme in secondary schools and the Crown Prince Scholarship Programme.Conference Chairperson Ed Goodwin praised in his speech the Crown Prince’s efforts and initiatives to boost education and training in Bahrain in order to help the kingdom move constantly and confidently towards its aspired development goals.
