HRH CP Calls for a Real Partnership Between the Public and the Private Sectors
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Economic Development Board (EDB) Chairman today urged tradesmen to avail themselves of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s desire, expressed in the Royal Reform Project, to make the national decisions collectively and not individually.
There should be opinion exchange and consultations before making key national economic decisions in order for them to be beneficial for all. HM King Hamd’s desire and follow-up of His Royal Highness Premier Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa inspire all to create a collective and constructive leadership spirit so as to enable Bahrain to sustain and carry on its progress and prosperity. HRH Crown Prince was speaking as he visited today the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).In a comprehensive statement to BCCI members and BCCI Chairman, HRH Crown Prince tackled many economic issues and gave clear answers to the raised questions.
The world economy is still facing many challenges, which compels us to put forth appropriate economic and financial policies to help the kingdom keep up to its economic methods that helped it shun the negative effects of the Global Economic Crisis, HRH Prince Salman noted. HRH Crown Prince also stressed the need to create a national wakefulness adopting a real partnership between the public and the private sectors in order to pave the way for the generation of new leaderships that repudiate the spirit of one sector’s control over the other and embrace national constructive partnership.
HRH Crown Prince also mentioned a number of initiatives aiming to stabilize the economy. He focused on supporting the most successful sectors and creating the mastermind that would link banks management, stock exchange, health sector improvement and ensure the continuous flow of liquidity in Bahrain.All these stem from our adherence to the Economic Vision of Bahrain, 2030 and its three major components competitiveness, sustainability and justice, HRH Prince Salman commented, noting that competitiveness should be highly valued as it strengthens our economic institutions and increase their potentials. It is only through competition in the commercial field that we can acquire the skill of innovation and solidify its self immunity in times of crises, HRH Crown Prince asserted.
On this occasion, HRH Prince Salman referred to the efforts he exerts to link the kingdom’s economy with the world economic powers, which paved the way for more development and openness and created a genuine partnership between the public and private sectors.HRH Crown Prince also expressed optimism regarding the future of the national economy which has achieved many successes in spite of the obstacles.The complementarity and cooperation between the municipality as public institution and the other sectors, especially the commercial one, is essential in order for it municipality- to be able to assume its responsibilities appropriately, HRH Prince Salman added.
In the end, BCCI Chairman Dr. Essam Fakhro and BCCI members appreciated HRH Crown Prince’s supportive role of the BCCI, which facilitated their work.They also expressed their desire to hold more similar meetings to take advantage of HRH Crown Prince’s high quality economic vision aiming to upgrade the private sector. EDB Executive Director Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Crown Prince’s Advisor Shaikh Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa attended the meeting.
