Deputy King Hails Efforts of Bahrain-Japan Friendship Society

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy of His Majesty the King and Crown Prince has voiced his full-fledged support for the Bahrain-Japan Friendship Society in recognition of its essential role in enhancing ties with friendly Japan.

 Speaking as he received today, at Al Riffa Palace, the society’s Board Chairman dignitary Mubarak bin Jassim Kanoo and other members, HRH Crown Prince asserted that the historical initiative launched by Bahrain and Japan 40 years ago has paved the way for establishing exemplary cultural, economic and social ties, expressing his sincere thanks and appreciation to society members for the functions they have planned to mark the 40th anniversary of the Bahraini-Japanese relations next year.

The Deputy King also urged the Society Chairman and members to look forward to future because “the Kingdom’s future will be brighter and democratic,” asserting that “under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Bahrain will remain a beacon of democracy, in which women rights are protected and social achievements, regarding education, health care and decent living, are consolidated.”

HRH Prince Salman also reviewed with them prospects of the kingdom’s relations with Japan which he visited three years ago and admired its successful experience, adding that “the latest developments witnessed by the world require us to enhance cooperation with countries and nations with which we share the same concepts and beliefs.” He also reassured the Japanese community in Bahrain that the kingdom will overcome the repercussions of the recent events,  emerge stronger and more democratic, and carry on building its constitutional institutions that guarantee the citizens’ rights and safeguard the interests of the residents, as well.

On their part, Chairman and members of the Bahrain-Japan Friendship Society commended the efforts made by HRH Crown Prince to boost ties with Japan. They also briefed him on the society’s achievements and future, especially the Japanese School in Bahrain which provides education for Japanese students. Head of HRH Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa was present.
