HRH Prince Salman Holds Key Meetings in Berlin

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, today held talks with Bundestag President and updated him on Bahrain’s political and economic developments.  He outlined the parliamentary democracy initiated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa ten years ago.

 He stressed the constitutional mechanism ensuring all Bahrainis political participation, thus crowning the reform project which aims to achieve people’s aspirations. HRH Prince Salman spotlighted the current situation in the Arab World. “The Arab Spring which spread to several Arab countries has also affected our fledgling democratic march”, he said. He paid tribute to HM the King for his bold decision establishing the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI), pointing out the positive results it has yielded. He expressed the hope that a suitable mechanism would be put in place to carry out the BICI Report recommendations so that Bahrain could overcome the repercussions of the unrest of past months which impacted national economy and negatively.

He stressed Bahrain’s aspirations to bolster Bahraini woman’s status and promote her achievements and rights, participating in political life and assuming responsibility. “The Kingdom of Bahrain has been pioneering in promoting woman’s rights”, he said, stressing resolve to bolster her status even further.   HRH Prince Salman also visited Cropper Foundation and met a group of thinkers, politicians and journalists and addressed their queries regarding the press conference he held with German Foreign Minister yesterday. 

The foundation hosted a lunch banquet in honour of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander.
