HRH Crown Prince Hails Solid Bahraini-Saudi Ties
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, today praised the landmark national and religious contributions made by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and keenness to meet the aspirations of his people, asserting that Saudi Arabia plays a pivotal role in both the Arab and Islamic worlds.
“Saudi Arabia is the first supportive shield of Bahrain and the rest of the Arab world,” he said, lauding the outstanding deep-rooted Bahraini-Saudi ties, anchored by the forefathers and strengthened today by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa and king Abdulla bin Abdulaziz. “We are a cohesive family bound by common interests,” he added. This came as HRH Crown Prince received today, at Al Riffa Palace, President General of Youth Welfare and President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, currently visiting the kingdom to attend the opening ceremony of the first edition of the GCC Games (Bahrain 11).
During the meeting, Prince Nawaf conveyed greetings from King Abdulla to HM King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Crown Prince, expressing delight at organising such a key sport event in the kingdom which, he said, is considered one of the leading countries in hosting such gatherings since the first edition of the GCC Football Cup.
HRH Crown Prince called for the need to set up new laws and regulations that can encourage youths to join the sport sector in order to learn many things and enhance their national and social awareness, wishing the organizers of Bahrain 11 and GCC athletes every success. He also welcomed the GCC sport delegations attending the first edition of the GCC Games, Bahrain 11.
Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Head of HRH Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa, Advisor to HRH Crown Prince Shaikh Ahmed bin Khalifa and the Saudi Ambassador to the kingdom Abdul Mohsen bin Fahd Al Marek.
