HRH Crown Prince Receives Shaikh Nasser and Praises “Bahrain 11”

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, today received, at Al Riffa Palace, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the “Bahrain 11” Colonel Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

During the meeting, HRH Crown Prince was informed on the latest preparations to host the first edition of the GCC Games (Bahrain 11), due to be opened tomorrow under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and run until October 22. HRH Crown Prince lauded the tremendous efforts exerted by Shaikh Nasser to ensure the success of the GCC Games, a sports gathering reflecting GCC brotherhood and cohesion.

“The wise leadership’s support for such a key GCC youth gathering testifies to the kingdom’s keen desire to promote joint GCC action at all levels,” he said, adding that the choice of the kingdom to host the first edition of the GCC Olympic Games reflects the distinguished sport position enjoyed by Bahrain across the GCC region. Head of HRH Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa attended.
