The Deputy King receives former US treasury secretary Professor Lawrence Summers

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Deputy King and Crown Prince said that the Arab and Islamic world are witnessing ideological renaissance aspiring towards development, stability and ensuring economic freedom reliant upon a successful economy and sustainable progressive growth.

 His Royal  Highness sreceived today at Riffa’ Palace former US treasury secretary professor Lawrence Summers and said that deepening commitment to democracy constitutes a guarantee to economic and social stability and protection of the cultural framework based on consensus, diversity and each other’s respect at this phase, emphasizing that freedom is one of the basic conditions for communities’ development and that focusing on national concerns and the highest interest lays down the foundation for successful regional and international regimes, citing the need to delve beyond headlines deeper into the essence of issues accurately and constructively. His Royal  Highness reviewed a number of national, regional and international issues. 

The guest made a presentation on the challenges and transformations facing the world in the upcoming decades which he defined as good management of economic and human resources and ensuring sustainable growth and benefitting from expertise in the management of giant international  projects as well as transformations management. The meeting was attended by Shaikh Khalifa bin Duaij Al Khalifa chief of HRH the Crown Prince’s court.
