The Reform March Will Continue Un-Wavered, Asserts HRH Crown Prince

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, today expressed hope that the movements witnessed by the Arab region would lead to more stability and promote equality, democracy and respect of human dignity.

 Speaking as he received at the Riffa Palace, in the presence of his son Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Head of the Middle-East and North Africa Department at the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry Sergei Vershinin, HRH Crown Prince said that development and progress are natural for all peoples, including the Middle Eastern ones, wishing that development will be positive and constructive for all countries in the region. HRH Crown Prince also indicated that the distinguished Turkish experience, which proved that Islam and democracy can, together, produce development and progress, may be copied by other countries. HRH Prince Salman also praised the major role played by new mass media and their contributions, calling upon all media establishments to be credible, professional and unbiased in order to consolidate their roles and position.

HRH Crown Prince also discussed with the Russian envoy and his accompanying delegation the latest developments in the kingdom, pointing out to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s assertion that unconditional and constructive National consensus dialogue is the only means through which the kingdom can overcome the repercussions of the recent events safely. HRH Prince Salman also affirmed that the national reform march in the kingdom will continue un-wavered. He also reiterated the kingdom’s strategic commitment to the GCC entity, adding that enhancing GCC unity is the guarantor of the bloc’s security, stability and its people’s welfare. The challenges facing the region were also spotlighted.

On his part, the Russian envoy briefed HRH Crown Prince on his countries’ attitudes towards the latest developments in the Middle East region, expressing Russia’s full support for the National Consensus Dialogue, initiated by HM King Hamad and due to kick-start on July 1. Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Head of the Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa were also present.
