HRH Crown Prince hails WMSC decision to reinstate Bahrain Grand Prix on this year’s Formula One calendar
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Economic Development Board, welcomed the decision of the World Motor Sports Council (WMSC) to reinstate the Bahrain Grand Prix on this year’s Formula One calendar.
His Royal Highness voiced his sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who has worked on achieving this, whether specialised bodies or the people of Bahrain who voiced their support. He also expressed special thanks to Mr Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One President and CEO; Mr Jean Todt, President of the FIA, and the World Motor Sports Council. “Having the race back in Bahrain has, indeed, significantly unified the people of Bahrain in this period,” His Royal Highness said. “Their love for their country and caring for its interest has motivated them in supporting efforts to bring the race back to Bahrain this year,” he added.
His Royal Highness hoped that this spirit will continue and grow stronger in the coming phase, especially as the kingdom is moving towards having the national dialogue announced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He said that such spirit will indeed be one of the essential factors that will ensure the success of the dialogue and that he will be doing his best to support this.
