HRH Prince Salman Urges Calm and Participation in the National Dialogue

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, today urged participation in a multi-party national dialogue to protect hard-won achievements, protect Bahrain’s security and stability and preserve the development momentum. He appealed to all parties to take part in the dialogue, so as to preserve Bahrain’s high interests and avert further chaos, extremism and polarization.

 HRH Prince Salman described the atmosphere of mourning and deep grief, pointing out the fears and anxieties gripping all citizens. He also reiterated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s call to restore calm, observe self-restraint and engage in a national dialogue. “

In this critical moment, it is our duty to urge all parties to engage in the dialogue for the country not to slip into further chaos, extremism and acute polarization”, he said, asserting historical responsibility to protect the country and its people, regardless of their affinities or orientations.

He stressed the need for all parties to promote far-reaching and continuous reforms, tackling all issues for Bahrainis’ aspirations and hopes to be achieved.
