HRH Crown Prince Hails Genuine Islamic Art and Architecture

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, today said that the Islamic art and architecture are a reflection of the bright image of Islamic thought and the pioneering role Muslims had played in the old Islamic eras.

 “Our ancestors who created advanced architectural art deserve our appreciation and respect,” HRH Crown Prince said as he received today, at Al Riffa Palace, the Dean of the Jordanian World Islamic Sciences & Education University’s Institute of Traditional Islamic Art and Architecture Dr. Minwer Al Meheid who supervised the rebuilding of Salahuddin pulpit in Al Aqsa Mosque.

“We are proud of our Arab and Islamic identities and we have to avail of Islamic art pioneers in the architectural field which has always inspired the renaissance of Bahrain and a tributary of its progress and development as outlined by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa,” he also said.

HRH Crown Prince reviewed with Dr.Al Meheid ways of preserving the genuine Islamic Architecture, asserting that Bahrain has always enhanced its cooperation with Arab, Islamic and global sides in order to protect that valuable heritage and present it as an expression of identity testifying to the highly advanced Arab and Islamic civilisations which are open to other cultures.

HRH Crown Prince also lauded the outstanding efforts of Dr.Minwer Al Meheid in promoting traditional Islamic arts and architecture, thanking him for supervising the reconstruction of Salahuddin pulpit and making it an artistic masterpiece.

On his part, Dr.Al Meheid hailed HRH Crown Prince’s interest  in the genuine Islamic Art and Architecture and his support for all initiatives aiming to preserve them.

Head of HRH Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa was present.
