Deputy King and HRH Premier pledge public money protection

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy King and Crown Prince, paid today a visit to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

Both leaders reiterated the government’s strong resolve to adopt measures to consolidate the government’s internal control of public money. New and more efficient mechanisms will be put in place so as to impose self-control on public money and prevent it from being squandered away, they asserted. “The valuable royal trust in the government urges us to be more strict than ever in improving the kingdom’s resources and preserving them,” they said, asserting that the government is keen to develop the country’s revenues so as to meet the development needs and upgrade the citizens standards of living.

They also pointed out that the government is setting forth the necessary plans and programmes in order to optimise the benefits of public money and use it wisely. “The government will not accept spending public money on any areas other than those specified beforehand in the general state budget,” they affirmed.

The two leaders also indicated that the kingdom’s economic growth is on the right path, stressing that the government is following closely on the latest economic developments so as to maintain the pioneering competitive position Bahrain currently enjoys thanks to its openness and trade and economic freedom.

“Bahrain is strongly committed to openness as a main tributary of enhancing its economy,” they also said.
