HRH the Deputy King chairs extraordinary Cabinet Meeting to review the 2023-2026 Government Programme
The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today chaired an extraordinary Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace to review the 2023-2026 Government Programme.
To begin, the Cabinet commended the Kingdom’s National Day celebrations that commemorate the establishment of the modern Bahraini State by Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783, as well as the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s accession to the throne. The Cabinet thanked all those who passed on their congratulations on this occasion.
His Royal Highness, then, directed that the meeting be devoted to discussing the 2023-2026 Government Program and the measures taken to advance the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty the King.
The Cabinet discussed the Government Programme’s pillars, policies, and objectives which are aligned to the Designation Letter issued by His Majesty the King for His Royal Highness to form the Government and His Majesty’s opening speech of the first session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
The Government Programme has been designed to accommodate the outcomes of the Future Aspirations Workshop and align with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. The Program has 3 priorities, 10 goals, and 5 main pillars, which are security, stability and fairness, economic recovery and sustainable development, and the quality of government services.
Following the Cabinet’s approval, the Government Programme will now be referred to the Council of Representatives. His Royal Highness assigned the Deputy Prime Minister, HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, to present the Government Programme to the Council.
His Royal Highness concluded by expressing his appreciation to the ministries and agencies for their work preparing the Programme. His Royal Highness also affirmed that through this Programme, the Government is committed to enhancing cooperation between the Executive and Legislative Authorities to ensure quality services are provided for the people of Bahrain.
