HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister issues Edict (23) of 2022

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued Edict (23) of 2022, on restructuring the National Committee on the Prohibition, Development, Production, and Stockpiling of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction.

Under the edict, the committee shall be chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and its members will include representatives of:

1- The Bahrain Defence Force (First Deputy Chairman)

2- The Supreme Council for the Environment (Second Deputy Chairman)

3- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

4- The Ministry of Health.

5- The Ministry of Transportation and Teleccommunications

6- The General Directorate Of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science at the Ministry of Interior

7- Customs Affairs from the  Ministry of Interior

8- The General Directorate of Civil Defence at the Ministry of Interior

9- The Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs

10- The Ministry of Oil.

11- The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism

12- The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning

13- The University of Bahrain.

The committee members shall serve for renewable three-year terms. If the membership of any of member becomes vacant for any reason, a representative of the same entity shall replace them until the end of their term.

The Ministers, each in their capacity, shall implement the provisions of this edict, which takes immediate effect, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
