HRH Deputy King meets Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector of AWS

The Deputy King, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today met the Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector for Amazon Web Services (AWS), Teresa Carlson, on the sidelines of the Gateway Gulf forum.

HRH the Deputy King and Teresa Carlson stressed the importance of promoting and encouraging public and private sector partnerships to drive innovation and competitiveness across all sectors

HRH the Deputy King highlighted that the existing partnership with AWS reflects Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to transform the role of the public sector from the central driver of development to a regulator and active partner with the private sector in economic development

HRH the Deputy King concluded by thanking Teresa Carlson for participating in the Gateway Gulf forum, and for her contribution to the plenary sessions

In September 2017, AWS announced its decision to open its first infrastructure region based in Bahrain in early 2019.
