HRH CP holds official talks with HH Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and attends Majlis
His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today held official talks with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. His Royal Highness also attended the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi’s Majlis.
The UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Bahrain’s Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity and Youth Affairs, President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, and a number of senior government Ministers and officials from Bahrain and the UAE also attended the official talks.
The official talks addressed the historic relations between Bahrain and the UAE, as well as current regional developments, with His Royal Highness highlighting that the UAE is a longstanding partner of Bahrain’s leadership and people and that it plays a pivotal role in supporting joint GCC initiatives.
His Royal Highness also praised the continuing growth of relations between Bahrain and the UAE, which contribute to future development, under the commitment and support of both His Majesty King Hamad and the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
In this regard, His Royal Highness noted Bahrain’s and the UAE’s shared interests and common stances towards various issues. His Royal Highness stressed the important role played by the UAE’s First President, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in consolidating ties between Bahrain and the UAE, and establishing a solid base of bilateral cooperation which has reached a substantial level and continues to grow. His Royal Highness further highlighted the late Sheikh Zayed’s pivotal role in consolidating the foundations of the GCC and uniting its leaders.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince noted that the efforts of the leaders who established the GCC have allowed the region to establish a prominent presence on an international scale. His Royal Highness stressed that the unity of the GCC guarantees further progress and development and its ability to confront challenges, in particular those related to regional and international security.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Royal Highness to the UAE, and expressed his wishes for a successful visit that further develops bilateral ties and strengthens cooperation that will lead to new opportunities. His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi also praised the strength of relations between the UAE and Bahrain, and the depth of joint efforts that unite the two countries.
His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi praised the strength of historic relations between the UAE and Bahrain’s leadership and people. His Highness stressed the importance of the safety and security of the GCC, adding that the security of the UAE is of equal value to that of Bahrain’s safety and security.
His Highness highlighted that the UAE as well as all GCC countries are moving towards progress and development, and that this provides a shining example in a wider region that has suffered from instability and violence.
In this regard, His Highness affirmed that all attempted external interventions which target the government and people of Bahrain will fail, in light of the awareness and vigilance of Bahrain’s citizens, the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, and the will of a united GCC.
Whilst discussing the region’s development, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince noted the UAE’s vision of development and its achievements, which have had a positive effect on the country’s regional and international standing, and which have helped further strengthen the region’s economic status.
His Royal Highness added that this reflects the UAE’s approach to achieving its comprehensive development goals, and is in line with Bahrain’s and the GCC’s united approach. The Crown Prince and accompanying delegation also attended the weekly Majlis of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Al Bahr Palace, during which His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of the values of unity and cohesion that underpin GCC relations, saying that they are factors that strengthen nationalism and loyalty.
The Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, and a number of senior officials and citizens also attended the official majlis. The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi expressed his delight regarding His Royal Highness’ visit to the majlis, and noted the importance of His Royal Highness’ visit as it reflects Bahrain’s and the UAE’s commitment to furthering relations across various areas.
His Royal Highness welcomed the opportunity to meet with Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince, along with a number of senior officials from the Emirates during the majlis visit, and highlighted the importance of such exchanges as it solidifies relations with the UAE’s leadership and its people.
His Royal Highness went on to note that majlises bring together all segments of society and are a core tradition inherited from forefathers. The Crown Prince also noted that the custom offers the opportunity to gain insight into the needs and views of citizens, and that majlises have surpassed their role as a purely social occasion, facilitating cultural seminars and lectures that provide opportunities to share culture, and exchange views and ideas regarding development.
His Royal Highness then praised the commitment of His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in holding his weekly majlis, which provides an opportunity for citizens to attend, and supports opportunities to exchange views and ideas regarding various fields. The Crown Prince of Bahrain conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad to the UAE President, and His Majesty’s wishes for further development and prosperity for the UAE and its people.
