HRH Crown Prince: Improving Bahrainis’ living standards forms the basis of all development efforts

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee.

His Royal Highness affirmed that improving the living standards of all Bahrainis remains the fundamental priority of the Kingdom’s development efforts. His Royal Highness added that on-going reforms will lead to increased employment opportunities throughout the Kingdom.

During the meeting, the Executive Committee discussed steps to direct subsidies to Bahraini citizens. The Executive Committee also announced a number of measures to facilitate greater investment in key sectors of Bahrain’s economy:

1. The Executive Committee directed the Ministerial Committee for Financial Affairs and Expenditure to identify means of directing subsidies to citizens. The Committee will submit its recommendations within one month.

2. The Executive Committee directed the Ministerial Committee for Services and Infrastructure to improve and simplify the processes associated with building and municipal permits in the Kingdom.

3. The Executive Committee directed all government entities to continue cooperation with the six government task forces responsible for identifying areas where government expenditure can be reduced.
