HRH Crown Prince meets UK Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Minister
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today met British Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Minister, His Excellency Tobias Ellwood MP, at Riffa Palace.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness underscored both countries’ commitment to bolstering cooperation on all levels in pursuit of shared strategic goals and interests. In this regard, His Royal Highness further emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to further developing ties with its international partners, a key priority underpinned by His Majesty King Hamad’s programme of reform and development.
His Royal Highness went on to highlight the long-standing strategic ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom. His Royal Highness emphasised that visits between the two countries play an important role in strengthening cooperation and coordination to address various regional and international issues.
His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of further unifying international efforts to confront groups that seek to undermine the region’s security and stability. His Royal Highness stressed that combatting theofascist groups who promote extremist views and terrorism remains a priority.
His Royal Highness and the British Minister also discussed recent regional and international developments, as well as other issues of mutual interest. His Royal Highness highlighted the UK’s prominent role in maintaining regional security and stability alongside international partners.
For his part, the British Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Minister praised the strength of bilateral relations between Bahrain and the UK and noted the importance of further developing strategic ties across all levels.
His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, also attended the meeting.
