HRH Crown Prince meets Board of Directors from Bahrain Athletics Association
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA), at Gudaibiya Palace. His Royal Highness also met the BAA’s Board of Directors and employees, and the Bahrain National Athletics team that took part in the 19th Arab Athletics Championship.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness conveyed His Majesty King Hamad’s congratulations to the National Athletics team for winning the 19th Arab Athletics Championship, and amassing a total of 31 medals. He noted that this achievement highlights the Kingdom’s standing in athletics across the Arab world.
His Royal Highness highlighted the role Bahraini youth play in representing the Kingdom in various international sporting and athletics events. In this regard, His Royal Highness also emphasised the continuous support of His Majesty King Hamad to the development of the youth and sports sectors.
His Royal Highness went on to wish the Bahraini National Athletics team every success in their future endeavors, and highlighted the efforts of the BAA, under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to create a conducive environment for further athletics achievements.
For his part, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty the King for his continuous support, and emphasised that the National Athletics team is fully dedicated to maintaining a high level of performance. His Highness went on to extend his gratitude to His Royal Highness for his continuous support and his recognition of the BAA’s efforts.
