HRH CP receives the Vice President and Prime Minister of Yemen
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met His Excellency Khaled Mahfoudh Bahah, Vice President and Prime Minister of the Republic of Yemen, at Riffa Palace.
His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of ensuring lasting security and stability in Yemen, and added that the next phase of Coalition efforts will be underpinned by UN Security Council resolution 2216, which seeks to find a political solution and takes into account the humanitarian needs of Yemen’s citizens.
Speaking about the role of Bahrain in the Coalition, His Royal Highness echoed the remarks of His Majesty King Hamad, which reinforced the Kingdom’s support to continued efforts to ensure the safety and security of all Yemeni citizens. His Royal Highness further highlighted the integral role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during “Operation Decisive Storm” and its efforts in the next stages of “Operation Renewal of Hope”.
His Royal Highness added that Bahrain’s role in both operations highlights the Kingdom’s continued commitment to supporting its regional allies in their efforts to restore peace and security in Yemen, a country that remains a pivotal part of the wider region and embodies unique elements of history, culture and civilisation.
His Royal Highness and His Excellency the Vice President also discussed broader efforts to strengthen coordination and collaboration between the two countries.
His Excellency expressed his gratitude for the Kingdom’s commitment to protecting the stability and sovereignty of Yemen, and highlighted Bahrain’s role in both military operations.
His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, also attended the meeting.
