Leadership congratulates AFC president

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has sent a congratulatory cable to Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa on his winning of a new term as President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and becoming Deputy FIFA President for Asia.

HM the King congratulated Shaikh Salman on the honourable exploit that adds to the kingdom’s rich record of landmark sport achievements at all gatherings.

HM King Hamad lauded Shaikh Salman’s competence and rich experience in the youth and sport fields, which, he said, has entitled him to win the two prestigious posts.

HM the King praised Shaikh Salman’s outstanding contributions to efforts to upgrade the youth and sport movement in the kingdom, affirming that his re-election will consolidate efforts to develop football across Asia.

HM the King expressed pride in Bahrainis who seek to honour the nation and gain it landmark achievements at the regional, Arab and international gatherings, wishing Shaikh Salman every success in serving Asian football. 

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, sent similar cables of congratulations to Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa.
