Crown Prince meets the Chairman of the Shura Council

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today met the Chairman of the Shura Council, His Excellency Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh at Riffa Palace.

During the meeting His Royal Highness noted the intrinsic role the Shura Coucil plays, pointing to its legislative responsibility including on areas firmly connected to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s programme of reform and development, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.   He noted how it played a vital institutional role in enhancing the rule of law and in overseeing the development of strong institutions.

His Royal Highness went on to emphasise the importance of constructive collaboration between the government and the legislature, noting that both should act in the interests of all in Bahrain by continuing to work together to build on the programme of reform and continue development.

The meeting went on to discuss pressing domestic issues of concern.

In response, the Chairman of the Shura Council paid his respect to His Royal Highness for pushing further development of the institutions of government to enhance productivity, accountability and transparency.  He went on to praise the on-going collaboration between the executive and the legislature to further the shared goal of further development for the Kingdom of Bahrain.
