HRH Crown Prince Hosts Iftar For Ministry of Interior
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister this evening hosted an iftar for the Ministry of Interior at the Public Security Officers Club. The majlis was attended by Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, Major General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, Minister of State for Interior Affairs along with many ministry officers.
His Royal Highness exchanged Ramadan greetings, noting that the holy month is an occasion to honour fundamental principles and noble Islamic values of righteousness, justice and equality when carrying out duties. His Royal Highness also discussed the role of the Ministry of Interior in maintaining security and stability whilst protecting citizens, and providing reassurance to the citizens of Bahrain. Security and stability are fundamental requirements for the development and growth of the Kingdom, and for the realisation of reform efforts led by His Majesty King Hamad, His Royal Highness stressed, noting that sustainable development is not possible without security.
His Royal Highness noted the devotion of the people of Bahrain is a source of strength against attempts to sow division and distort national achievements. He stated that all acts of terrorism and violence, and attempts to disrupt security, will be dealt with under the rule of law. His Royal Highness gave his support for the security services in performing their national duty to protect the people, adding that attempts to target them must be acted upon, and condemned.
His Royal Highness commended the role of the security services and the Ministry of Interior in maintaining the rule of law and justice, and protecting the rights and freedoms of the people. His Royal Highness emphasised that in order to achieve sustainable political and social stability, there must be joint responsibility to protect the fundamentals of the nation, and to build trust within society.
The Minister of Interior thanked His Royal Highness for all his support, and noted that the security services and military personnel will continue to maintain a high level of service in delivering their duties, and will remain committed to the directions of the Supreme Commander with regards to maintaining security and stability, enforcing the rule of law, and safeguarding the rights of the public.
