Crown Prince Meets US Acting Assistant Secretary of State for the Near East

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister met the United States’ Acting Assistant Secretary of State for the Near East Elizabeth Jones today at Riffa Palace.

During the meeting His Royal Highness emphasized Bahrain’s continuing efforts to meet the Kingdom’s long terms ambitions under the reform project led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, through both dialogue and consensus-building.His Royal Highness then expressed Bahrain’s appreciation to the allies for their support to the Kingdom’s programme of reform. HRH highlighted the significance of visits, such as the one by the Acting Assistant Secretary of State, in supporting bilateral relations as well as cooperation and coordination on many issues of common interest.

In response, Acting Assistant Secretary of State Jones praised the continually strengthening relations between Bahrain and the United States, drawing particular attention to supportive results of His Royal Highness’s recent visit to Washington D.C. During the meeting current regional and international issues of significance were discussed, including methods to support security in the region.
