Deputy King Visits Justice Ministry
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Deputy King, Crown Prince visited the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs today.
His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of justice and equality in applying the law to maintain the nation’s security, ensure citizens’ rights, and provide the right environment for development and reform. His Royal Highness noted that the separation of powers and the independence of the judiciary are both central features of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and are foundations of the reforms started by His Majesty King Hamad. His Royal Highness highlighted in this regard the role of the executive authority, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa the Prime Minister, which supports these efforts.
His Royal Highness also pointed out the role of the Ministry, which is part of the executive authority, in supporting the independence of judicial authority and maintaining Bahrain as state governed by its institutions and law. His Royal Highness was received by Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa and senior officials at the Ministry. His Royal Highness also toured the Ministry and was introduced to its main strategies, projects and plans, and major achievements to date.
On this tour, His Royal Highness also met Ministry employees who provided him an overview of the services they provide to citizens. His Royal Highness then went on to highlight the important role of the Ministry in Bahrain’s development and in maintaining citizens’ rights, in this regard His Royal Highness also praised the efforts of all the Ministry’s employees. His Royal Highness also emphasized the importance of improving the services provided to citizens.
To this end, His Royal Highness directed the Ministry to accelerate the completion of transactions and litigation proceedings, alongside improving procedural systems related to case management and dispute settlement taking best practices into account, in order to support law, justice, and the judicial system to match the rapid development in the country. His Royal Highness also highlighted the importance of finding new ways to resolve conflicts, especially in mediation and commercial arbitration, to meet the requirements of this sector. His Royal Highness went on to stress the importance of the Ministry’s role in maintaining social unity in Bahrain, in addition to its role in following up BICI recommendations, considered key to reforms in Bahrain.
He also conveyed the importance of the continued implementation of the remaining recommendations, especially regarding the rebuilding of mosques, in order to maintain Bahrain’s status as a nation of tolerance.For his part, the Minister of Justice expressed his appreciation and thanks to His Royal Highness for his visit and praised His Royal Highness’ instructions, which will motivate all the Ministry’s members to work even harder to achieve the Ministry’s mission and goals.
