Deputy King Receives GCC Secretary-General
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Deputy King, Crown Prince met today with Dr. Abdulatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and the chairmen and members of chambers of commerce of all the GCC countries. The representatives of the chambers of commerce were in Bahrain for the 28th joint meeting between the GCC Secretariat General and the chairpersons and members of the GCC Chambers of Commerce.
His Royal Highness noted the role of chambers of commerce in implementing the visions of GCC countries’ leadership to achieve greater cooperation in commerce, support investment and encourage the economic integration of the Arabian Gulf’s economy. His Royal Highness emphasized Bahrain’s support for the GCC under the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad. His Royal Highness also highlighted the important role of the GCC private sector in increasing regional investment, which supports the economic and business status of the GCC states, alongside creating new job opportunities that drive prosperity in the region.
His Royal Highness went on to acknowledge the challenges in the region and the importance of supporting the idea of the GCC states operating as one bloc when addressing global changes. His Royal Highness also stated that the improvement of legislation and institutions was vital to the establishment of new economic and industrial projects. His Royal Highness wished those participating in the meeting all success in developing recommendations that would support the private sector in the region and encourage it to start further important projects.
Dr. Al Zayani and the chairpersons and members of the chambers of commerce expressed their appreciation for His Royal Highness’ interest, support, and guidance, all of which reflect Bahrain’s dedication to supporting the GCC’s economy and private sector. They also highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s continuous improvement in its legislation and institutions that matches the aspirations of the chambers of commerce and the GCC’s private sector.
