Crown Prince presents F1 victory trophy

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad AlKhalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today presented the victory trophy to the winner of the 2013 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix: Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel, and congratulated second and third place runners up Kimi Raikkonen and RomainGrosjean of Lotus.

 His Royal Highness congratulated the winner of the international racing event, and expressed his thanks to all the teams for delivering an exciting performance. He also showed his gratitude to the organisers of the event, and all those that contributed to its success.  Earlier in the day, His Royal Highness received visiting dignitaries who had travelled to the Kingdom to watch the 2013 Formula 1 Gulf Air Grand Prix, and also met Formula 1 fans during a tour of the Bahrain International Circuit.  

His Royal Highness said the race, which was first hosted in the Middle East at the Bahrain International Circuit in 2004, was a special event for Bahrain. He welcome the support to this national event, which many people have contributed to, and which has placed Bahrain on to the international map.
