Deputy King Receives a Delegation from French Senate
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy of His Majesty the King, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today received a delegation from the French Senate, headed by Senator Philippe Marini, Chairman of the France-Gulf Countries Group,at Gudhaibiya Palace.
His Royal Highness informed the delegation that the path remains open for the continued implementation of further developments that are beneficial to all citizens of the Kingdom. This is in line with Bahrain’s determination to continue the reforms for which His Majesty the King has laid the foundations.
His Royal Highness stressed the importance of isolating Bahrain from regional tensions whilst focusing on maintaining the positive progress of the National Consensus Dialogue to handle internal matters in a manner that serves the national interest and ensures security and stability.
His Royal Highness continued by stating that thispivotal stage has seen hopes grow for the ongoing development of democracy in Bahrain, a process thatis constantly enhanced and evolving to ensure itssustainability. His Royal Highness and the French delegation also discussed existing bilateral relations between Bahrain and France and the potential for their further development.
For their part, the delegation congratulated His Royal Highness on his appointment as First Deputy Prime Minister, wishing him continuing success in his efforts towards further development in the Kingdom.
The delegation also noted the importance of relations with Bahrain within the framework of France’s wider ties with the Arabian Gulf region and voiced its appreciation for Bahrain’s support for French efforts on international issues.
