Crown Prince arrives in Tokyo for official meetings

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, arrived in Tokyo by bullet train today after concluding a working visit Kyoto, As part his on-going working visit to Japan.

His Royal Highness will start a series of meetings tomorrow focusing on bilateral political, diplomatic and economic relations between Bahrain and Japan.His Royal Highness’ first meeting will be with His Imperial Majesty Emperor Akihito, Emperor of Japan. This meeting will focus on relations between Bahrain and Japan, which are based on mutual respect, reinforced by visits and connections across political, economic, and cultural sectors.

His Majesty the King’s visit to Japan last year underpinned the strong relations between both countries, pushing forward and expanding the commercial, economic and diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Japan. This followed His Royal Highness’ own visit in 2008 which also played an important role in enhancing the relationship.

His Royal Highness will also meet Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, His Imperial Highness Prince Naruhito, Crown Prince of Japan, His Excellency Mr. Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minister of Japan, His Excellency Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida, and His Excellency Mr. Toshimitsu Motegi, Minister of Economy, Trade & Industry for Japan.

In addition, the Bahrain Economic Development Board is holding a business lunch to be attended by the official Bahraini delegation accompanying His Royal Highness, a Bahraini Business delegation, and the presidents of several major Japanese companies.His Royal Highness earlier today concluded his tour of the major Japanese city of Kyoto with a visit to Katsura Palace and Nijo Castle, two of the main cultural and historic sites in Japan.
