HRH Crown Prince arrives in Japan, attends dinner hosted by the Governor of Kyoto

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, arrived yesterday in Japan as part of his ongoing Asian tour, covering diplomatic and cultural affairs.

His Royal Highness visited the Temple of the Golden Pavilion located in Kyoto, which is one of the main cultural attractions in the city, and also attended a traditional Japanese tea ceremony hosted by the Urasenke Tea House.In the evening, His Royal Highness attended an official dinner hosted by Mr. Yamada Keiji, the Governor of Kyoto. In a speech at the event, His Royal Highness expressed his admiration for Japan’s long standing ability to both deal with challenges and learn from them, building on its experience as a model nation of success and prosperity.

His Royal Highness also emphasized Bahrain’s appreciation and respect for Japan in fostering this approach while safeguarding its own culture and identity.His Royal Highness explained that this appreciation and respect are based on Bahrain’s vision to address challenges while simultaneously ensuring the rights, wellbeing, and development of its citizens. His Royal Highness subsequently noted that Bahrain is looking forward to benefiting from Japan’s experience and ideas in its own journey of further democratic development.

His Royal Highness concluded by mentioning His Majesty the King’s visit to Japan last year, and emphasizing that his own visit comes to build on the results of that important visit which pushed forward and expanded the commercial, economic and diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Japan. His Royal Highness noted that these relations build on both countries’ economic connections stretching back more than 80 years, and diplomatic relations stretching back 40 years.For his part, the Governor of Kyoto welcomed His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and recognized the visit to Kyoto as a step towards to even greater cooperation between Bahrain and Japan.

Mr. Keiji stated his appreciation for His Royal Highness beginning his visit to Japan in Kyoto and noted the area’s cultural and historical monuments which stand side-by-side with its solid business and industrial foundation. The Governor concluded by wishing Bahrain more progress and prosperity.
