HRH Crown Prince Receives Well-wishers
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister received officials and leading members of society today at his majlis in Riffa Palace after taking his oath of office before His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, formally appointing him as First Deputy Prime Minister.
His Royal Highness expressed his appreciation for the congratulatory messages he has received following the announcement of the royal decree that marked his appointment to the Government. His Royal Highness said that the goodwill expressed by Bahrain society was a significant source of motivation and encouragement. He expressed his determination to focus on supporting the vision of His Majesty the King and assisting the work of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, the Prime Minister.
His Royal Highness noted that his new position was a significant responsibility. His efforts would be centred on working closely and collaboratively to support His Royal Highness the Prime Minister in serving the Kingdom, building on its existing achievements and creating the foundations for future progress. Looking at the future agenda, he said the main priority must be in ensuring that all government actions continue to be fully in the national interest and meet the needs of all Bahrainis.
Visitors to the majlis covered a broad cross section of Bahrain society including members of the royal family; senior government officials; members of the House of Representatives and the Shura Council; members of several municipal councils; prominent religious figures; academics; community leaders; journalists; and several diplomats serving in the Kingdom.
