HRH Crown Prince receives new BIC board members
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, today met the new board of the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), headed by Chairman Mr. Zayed Al Zayani at Riffa Palace.
The new board briefed His Royal Highness on the new plans for the circuit and current preparations for the Bahrain Grand Prix due to be held in April. Underlining the importance of international events held at the circuit, such as the Bahrain Grand Prix, and their positive contribution to revitalising the economy within the kingdom, HRH Crown Prince said it is essential that the BIC maximises its potential as a host to a variety of business, economic, cultural and sporting activities, in order to further enhance its role as a contributor to the national economy.
In wishing the new board every success, HRH Crown Prince noted the far-reaching efforts by the BIC to make Bahrain a world-class race venue. He also gave recognition to the continued and valued cooperation of the various government ministries and public bodies that have worked with the BIC to help bring the Bahrain GP, and other events, to Bahrain. These events continue to draw support from a wide range of motorsports fans, HRH Crown Prince added.The new board members said the support and follow up received from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince contributed significantly to the status held by the circuit.
