HM King Hamad deputizes HRH Crown Prince to attend Khaleeji 21 final
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa deputized His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, to attend the 21st Gulf Cup of Nations final between the UAE and Iraqi national teams at Bahrain National Stadium.
HRH the Crown Prince was welcomed on arrival at the stadium, alongside his son Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, by Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and Head of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the championship Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa as well as heads of participating delegations and Gulf and Arab federations.
HRH crowned the winning UAE team, congratulating them on their achievement, distinguished performance and fair play. He also congratulated the Iraqi squad for their high performance, lauding the remarkable participation of all the teams who vied for the trophy.
He expressed happiness about receiving the GCC and Arab brethren in Bahrain, commending the spirit of brotherhood displayed throughout the tournament.He thanked the organisers for their efforts to ensure success of the championship, hailing the Bahraini spectators for their positive interaction.
HRH the Crown Prince honoured Iraqi Nour Sabri as best goalkeeper, Emirati Ahmed Khalil, Iraqi Younis Mahmoud and Kuwaiti Abdul Hedi Khamis as best scorers and Emirati Omar Abdulrahman as best player. HRH also honoured the referees and observer of the match.
